The Active Learning Lab

The ALL is the centrepiece of the restructuring of the Department of Engineering (now School of Engineering) at the University of Liverpool. This teaching space was designed to allow a whole year cohort of 250 Engineering students to undertake any phase of team project work at the same time. This idea, for which I claim some credit, underlies the radical curriculum reform which is represented by the Liverpool Engineer programmes.

The ALL, with its glazed exterior, is eye-catching at any time. However after dark its colour-change lighting makes a stunning addition to the Liverpool skyline.

I also rather like these images, with the cathedral reflected in the glass, and (from the other side) with the crown showing.
